The Bundle of Rights that the owner of real property has are those legal rights of ownership including:
1/ Possession - right to have and control the property.
2/ Use - right to use the property in any legal manner.
3/ Encumbrance - right to borrow money against the property.
4/ Exclusion - right to exclude others from using or entering the property.
5/ Transfer - right to sell, rent or transfer ownership or use of the property at will.
Onwners do not have a “right of freedom” to build whatever they want on their land. Zoing regulations and ordinances govern such matters. Similarly, owners do not have a “right of destruction.” A permit may be required to tear down a building.
